 Key Responsibilities
Maintenance &amp; Repair
Strip down, clean, lap seats, replace springs, bellows, and O-rings on valves from brands like Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Leser, and Farris
Execute emergency repairs during unplanned shutdowns to avoid flaring penalties
Testing &amp; Certification
Perform statutory PSV testing and recertification intervals as mandated by NUPRC Guidelines and API 576 - typically every 12-36 months depending on service
Conduct bench testing and in-situ testing using deadweight testers and portable pop testers on FPSOs, flow stations, refineries, and gas plants
Stamp and issue PSV certification tags acceptable to NUPRC and third-party inspectors
HSE &amp; Regulatory Compliance
Ensure 100% compliance with DPR Safety Regulations 1997 and NMDPRA requirements
Complete Permit to Work (PTW), JSA, and Toolbox Talk documentation before any job

Minimum ND/HND Mechanical Engineering from NBTE-accredited polytechnic. B.Eng preferred for IOC roles
API 510 or API 570. BOSIET + HUET for offshore roles. COREN registration is an advantage

SERVICE DIMENSION:
The Project Architect serves as the Company's resident in-house architectural authority across all Company EP Nigeria Limited facilities in Nigeria. The role holder is responsible for the full architectural lifecycle of capital projects and facilities management services, from initial design concept through to construction supervision, quality assurance, and as-built documentation.
This is a technically demanding, multi-site role requiring a seasoned professional who can independently manage complex briefs, engage with contractors and consultants to enforce design standards, and ensure that all built environments meet the Company's specifications, regulatory requirements, and best international practices in construction and infrastructure.

ACTIVITIES:
A. Architectural Design &amp; Documentation
Articulate, initiate and develop original conceptual architectural designs in response to project briefs and Company requirements.
Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and specifications, across all project stages from concept to construction.
Prepare shop drawings and change-control drawings during construction phases, ensuring alignment with approved designs.
Review and validate architectural designs submitted by external consultants, verifying compliance with scope, specifications, and applicable standards.
Maintain and update all architectural working documents to reflect evolving site conditions and approved variations.

B. Construction Supervision &amp; Quality Control
Provide day-to-day on-site supervision of all architectural aspects of construction works across Company locations.
Ensure strict adherence by contractors to approved construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections on all architectural elements, identifying defects and non-conformances.
Supervise the testing and approval of building materials and components to confirm compliance with specified standards.
Prepare detailed site inspection reports, punch lists, and progress updates for Management review.
C. Project Management Support
Serve as the Company's resident site architect for both Special Projects and Facilities Management works.
Provide technical guidance on construction methods, sequencing, and best-practice execution approaches.
Verify that completed works conform strictly to approved-for-construction drawings prior to signing off.
Carry out periodic reviews of architectural drawings and ensure timely updates as required throughout the project lifecycle.

D. Standards, Compliance &amp; Documentation

Support the development and continuous improvement of architectural standards and procedures within the Facilities Management function.

Registration with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is mandatory.
Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) or an equivalent professional body is an advantage.

Theoretical Knowledge
Basic understanding of oil &amp; gas facilities and processes (well to export), including hydrocarbon risks (explosion, asphyxiation).
Working knowledge of SAP for maintenance planning, work order preparation, material requisition, and history tracking.
Proficient in basic computer use (Word, Excel, email, internet).
Strong foundation in mechanical principles and process parameters (pressure, temperature, flow, density) and their impact on rotating and static equipment performance.
Able to read and interpret P&amp;IDs, isometric drawings, GA drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation.

Equipment Knowledge
Working knowledge of mechanical installation (filters, gear boxes, exchangers, air coolers, diesel engine, gas turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps or compressors, common valve types (butterfly, gate, ball, cage and PSV) and hydraulic systems (cranes, HPU, pumps).
Maintenance work preparation know-how 
Understand maintenance strategies and techniques, including: Preventive and corrective maintenance
Alignment, tolerances, and clearances
Basic condition monitoring concepts (vibration, temperature, leaks)
Be able on a given preventive work order to prepare tools, spare parts and adapt procedure or work instruction.
Basic understanding of process control interactions with mechanical systems, including how equipment responds to operational changes (start-up, shutdown, trips).
Awareness of safety systems and interfaces with mechanical equipment, including ESD actions, relief systems, and isolation philosophy.
Qualifications:

Bacharelato em Engenharia Mecânica
Has held as a minimum a Mechanical foreman position for up to 5 years in an offshore maintenance setting

Operations
Executes lifting operations as directed, including material transfer to/from support vessels, equipment handling, and offloading activities.
Operates cranes, winches, forklifts, and other lifting/handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Organises and performs rigging and lifting activities under his responsibility, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and lifting plans.
Ensures all lifting operations are conducted in accordance with QHSSE requirements, site procedures, and instructions from authorised personnel.
Works closely with Logistics and Marine teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of lifting activities.
Participates in pre-job risk assessments (JSA) and strictly follows all safety recommendations.
Reports all incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to supervision and COMPANY.
Ensures work areas are left clean and safe after completion of activities.

Maintenance &amp; Equipment
Performs first-line maintenance and routine inspections on cranes and lifting equipment, reporting any anomalies to the Mechanical Supervisor.
Assists in maintenance and minor repairs of lifting devices as required.
Supports third-party inspection and certification activities, including use of water bags and load testing equipment.
Ensures all lifting tools and equipment are maintained in safe and operational condition.

Support Activities
Provides assistance in rigging, lifting operations, and general handling activities as required.
Supports mechanical team activities during non-lifting periods, as directed by supervision.

Methods &amp; Continuous Improvement
Reports daily maintenance findings and operational feedback to supervision.
Identifies recurrent issues and proposes improvements to procedures and equipment reliability.
Ensures proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures at all times.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Education &amp; Certification
Técnico Médio (Industrial/Mechanical) or equivalent technical qualification.Alternatively, completion of a recognised trade apprenticeship or certified technician training scheme.
Valid or expired (within last 2years) offshore crane operator certification approved by a competent authority (e.g., BS 7121 or equivalent).
Valid forklift and lifting equipment operator certifications.

Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in crane and lifting operations within oil &amp; gas or heavy industrial environments.
Minimum 3 years’ experience offshore, with proven involvement in:Lifting operations to/from support vessels and marine units
Offshore material handling and equipment transfer
Execution of lifting activities under Permit to Work (PTW) conditions
Demonstrated experience in maintenance and first-line inspection of cranes and lifting equipment.
Experience with critical lifting operations and adherence to approved lifting procedures and safety standards.

Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of rigging and lifting operations, including lifting plans and safe load handling.
Ability to operate cranes, winches, forklifts, and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with inspection and basic maintenance of lifting equipment and accessories.
Understanding of load testing activities (e.g., water bags, load cells) is an advantage.

HSE &amp; Compliance
Good understanding of lifting safety standards, Permit to Work (PTW), and site procedures.
Demonstrates strong safety awareness and adherence to QHSSE requirements at all times.

 Main activities:
Ensures full compliance with QHSSE rules, Permit to Work (PTW), and site operating procedures during all maintenance activities.
Organises, plans, and supervises maintenance and troubleshooting activities on turbine-driven equipment (turbo-generators and turbo-compressors) and associated auxiliary systems.
Provides technical support to the preparation and planning team for maintenance activities, including scope definition, resource requirements, and intervention strategies.
Leads field teams during interventions, ensuring adherence to procedures, quality standards, and operational priorities.
Takes full ownership of turbine systems under his responsibility in case of breakdown, ensuring rapid fault diagnosis, resolution, and restoration to normal operating conditions with minimal production impact.
Manages and ensures availability, control, and proper use of specialised tools and equipment required for turbine maintenance.
Prepares and validates detailed technical reports, including intervention feedback, failure analysis, and recommendations.
Identifies recurrent failures, performs root cause analysis (RCA), and proposes corrective and preventive actions to improve reliability and availability.
Interfaces with Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure integrated system performance and safe restart of equipment.
Contributes to achieving technical and maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, reliability, and reduction of unplanned shutdowns.
Specific activities
Ensure that the transfer of knowledge by mentoring occurs
properly within his teams, and actively participates in the OJT /
assessment program.

Mechanical Specific:
Responsible for maintenance and performance of:3 × Turbo-generators (Nuovo Pignone MS5001 gas turbines coupled with GEC Alsthom T500 generators)
3 × Turbo-compressors (Thermodyn RC/RB)
&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Qualification: 
Minimum qualification level required is Licenciatura or Técnico Médio in Mechanical Engineering
Theoretical Knowledge
Strong understanding of oil &amp; gas processes and production systems, including hydrocarbon risks.
Good foundation in rotating equipment principles, including gas turbines, compressors, and generators.
Ability to read and interpret P&amp;IDs, mechanical drawings, and vendor documentation.
Understanding of control and protection systems (ESD, alarms, trips, interlocks).
Equipment Knowledge
In-depth knowledge of turbine-driven equipment: turbo-generators and turbo-compressors, including auxiliaries (lube oil, fuel gas, seal gas, cooling systems).
Familiar with vibration monitoring and condition monitoring systems.
Understanding of mechanical and control interfaces with electrical and instrumentation systems.
Maintenance &amp; Systems
Strong experience in preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of rotating equipment.
Working knowledge of CMMS (e.g., SAP PM): planning inputs, execution follow-up, and reporting.

Able to read and interpret P&amp;IDs, loop diagrams, ESD matrices, datasheets, and vendor documentation.
Understanding of control and regulation principles (simple, cascade, split range) and basic logic (AND/OR).
Familiar with PCS, F&amp;G, and ESD systems, including alarms, trips, and inhibits.
Equipment Knowledge
Good understanding of instrumentation: pressure, temperature, level, flow and interface measurement devices.
Knowledge of metering systems (orifice, coriolis, turbine).
Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems (SOVs, relays, timers).
