SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a Contracts & Claims Engineer to join its work force in Nigeria.
Responsibilities include:
Build EPNG Project Management System
- Provide support to define the method & tools related to contract management, claims and disputes management.
- Participate to definition methods for the entity (Contract toolbox, Competence requirement for contract engineers, expertise requirement, evaluation quiz...)
- Communicate, explain and raise awareness on the methods and tools, and contractual rigorousness.
Control the contract management of the portfolio and prepare for Claim
- Provide guidance in identifying potential change orders and claims.
- Assist the project in drafting correspondences and notices to Contractors.
- Analysis and review of existing Claims: provide support to projects for existing Claims and corresponding resolution (contracts execution phase / close out phase),
- Provide higher understanding and recommendations for building the Claim dossiers / corresponding settlement.
Provide expertise to projects
- When relevant may act as Contract engineer for some designated projects.
- Coach the contract engineers of the entity and Projects Portfolio (Assistance, advice, training...)
- Provide dedicated support during CFT or claim negotiation, Tender evaluation…
- Provide support to the project to build ad Hoc Decision support dossier for Contract Committee or VO approval
- Help project to navigate within HQ, TGP or the affiliate making sure internal stakeholder are well informed and consulted as required.
Improve and learn from experience
- Contribute continuously to Contracts REX/Lessons Learnt consolidation. For each of the dossier, starting by screening the existing REX and when completing a dossier preparing main lessons learnt to be shared with other contract engineers and to be archived.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Contract and procurement professional preferably in energy sector
Professional Experience (number of years): 20
Experience within project (number of years): 15
Very Good understanding of all aspects of the project: planning, time impact, quantum, costs, risk management, project management, technical, local content…
Essential personnel management skills (Teamwork, communication, coordination, delegation).
