Job description

SPIE Global Services Energy is looking for E&I Material Controller to join its workforce on BONGA Offshore Project in Lagos Nigeria, who will be responsible for supervising all cable tray fabrication, installation, cable routing, and associated civil/structural interface works on the Bonga Madu EPC1 Project. The role ensures that all cable tray and routing activities are executed safely, in compliance with engineering drawings and project specifications, within schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Material Receiving & Inspection: 

  • Receive E&I materials delivered to site/warehouse.
  • Verify materials against Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), and packing lists.
  • Check quantity, specifications, and physical condition.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection when required.
  • Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Maintain proper inventory records (manual and system).
  • Monitor stock levels and notify procurement/site team for low stock.
  • Conduct periodic stock count and reconciliation.
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of materials.

Material Issuance & Tracking

  • Issue materials based on approved Material Requisition (MR).
  • Record all material movements accurately.
  • Track critical and long-lead E&I items (cables, instruments, panels, JB, etc.).
  • Maintain traceability for project materials.

Storage & Preservation: 

  • Ensure proper storage conditions for E&I materials (especially instruments and sensitive equipment).
  • Implement preservation measures for panels, transmitters, cables, and electrical components.
  • Maintain organized and clean storage areas.


Documentation & Reporting: 

  • Maintain up-to-date material records and filing system.
  • Prepare material status reports (MSR) weekly/monthly.
  • Coordinate with procurement and project team on delivery schedules.
  • Support audit and internal checks.


Coordination: 

  • Liaise with Procurement, Site Engineer, Supervisor, and QA/QC.
  • Coordinate delivery schedule with suppliers.
  • Support project team to avoid material shortages or delays.

QHSE

  • Ensures HSE policy fulfillment during his activities
  • Maintains a strong safety culture in line with Company HSE Requirements and Rules
  • Ensures compliance with Operating Procedures & Guidelines with the asset to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plan Integrity
  • Management System, including permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, SIMOPS, tool box talks, and job hazard analyses (JHA).
  • He/she shall immediately address and report any unsafe acts or conditions in the work area

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in E&I construction projects.
  • Knowledge of E&I materials (cables, cable tray, panels, instruments, fittings, etc.).
  • Familiar with material control procedures and documentation.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, inventory system).
  • Able to work at site environment
