Job description

  • We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of Oil & Gas onshore projects in Southern Iraq. Candidate will be based in Abu Dhabi and will be responsible for managing project delivery, client interfaces, contractual obligations, resource allocation, cost control, and overall project performance.
  • The role requires proven project management experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Frequent business trips to Iraq (Basra region), averaging approximately 10 days per month.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full project lifecycle from project RFQ, to execution, commissioning support, and close-out.
  • Act as the primary interface between the client, internal stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage project resources including personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and support functions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation plans when required.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, progress reports, forecasts, and management dashboards.
  • Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, invoicing, revenue recognition, and financial performance.
  • Manage contractual matters including variations, claims, change orders, extensions of time, and commercial negotiations.
    Ensure compliance with company procedures, client specifications, local regulations, and HSE requirements.
  • Support business development activities by identifying opportunities for project growth and additional services.
  • Maintain regular communication with project teams deployed in Iraq and conduct frequent site visits as required.

Profile

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Master 's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, or equivalent).
 

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of Project Management experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven experience managing onshore Oil & Gas projects.
  • Previous experience working for international engineering, EPC, or service companies is mandatory.
  • Commissioning and/or Start-up experience is considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience in OPERCOM methodology is a strong advantage.
    Experience working in Iraq or other Middle East countries is preferred.
  • Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in an international environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and results-oriented.
