Job description

SPIE Global Services Energy is currently looking for HSE Coordinator to join its work force in Nigeria.

 

Key Responsibility:

  • In the Focal Point for Safety matters in the CONTRACTOR Organization
  • Verifies that all procedures, specifications, and standards are followed.
  • Follows performance of works at the power plant (respect of specification and best practices).
  • Ensures HSE regulations are followed, encourages safe working practices in the workplace, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
  • Assists the preparation team by giving any technical support for preparation of the jobs
  • Ensures awareness with KPI requirements
  • Plays a predominant role in awareness on HSE matters to personnel on site. Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
  • Shall ensure that the workplace is safe, fit for all hot work activities.
  • Shall be conversant with basic ethics aimed at controlling quality of works
  • Ensures the implementation of JRA’s, PTW, mitigation measures, safe work practices, housekeeping etc, in line with COMPANY policies
  • Serve as an HSE contact within the facility and provide leadership and technical support on HSE programs in the designated area
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes to ensure optimal safety during site activities

Profile

  • Bsc/BEng, or HND Engineering Discipline or equivalent
  • Certification in Occupational/Construction Health & Safety (OSHA, CHST, STSC, or equivalent).
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in HSE.
  • Experience in turbine related industry to have knowledge of the specific environment linked to HSE aspects
  • Good knowledge of Regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.),
  • Ability to work in a large multinational team
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining good relations with colleagues and others
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Great organizational and time management abilities.

Required authorisations

  • Bsc/BEng, or HND Engineering Discipline or equivalent
  • Certification in Occupational/Construction Health & Safety (OSHA, CHST, STSC, or equivalent).
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in HSE.
  • Experience in turbine related industry to have knowledge of the specific environment linked to HSE aspects
  • Good knowledge of Regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, ISO, etc.),
  • Permit to work system
  • SAP proficiency.
