SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking suitable candidate to fill the position of QA Lead to join its work force in Nigeria.
Responsibilities include:
Build and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) and provide necessary support for the portfolio of projects
- Develop and submit for approval to the QAQC Portfolio Manager the key generic QA documents for PPM, including Generic Quality Manual, Generic Project Quality Plan, Internal Audit procedure, etc.
- Establish with the QAQC Portfolio Manager a generic QMS framework and define its Key Performance Indicators, cascaded and adapted to each project governed by PPM
- Present the generic QMS to project teams, and monitor relevant personnel on its implementation, ensuring consistent application of QMS procedures and quality standards across the portfolio
- Assist the QAQC PP Manager in managing QA deliverables for each project.
Assist the QAQC PP manager to drive Contractor Quality Assurance and Compliance across the Portfolio
- Organize, lead and expedite external quality audits of Contractors and Subcontractors, ensuring their QMS and execution practices are in full compliance with projects and PPM requirements
- Actively participate in the qualification and assessment process of Contractors engaged on projects governed by PPM, ensuring only compliant and capable entities are approved for execution
- Investigate identified QA issues and propose solutions/improvements to the concerned Contractors
- Monitor external audit findings and remarks, and any other reported quality teams through periodic meetings with Contractors
Ensure Projects execution activities comply with company rules & project policy and procedures.
Govern Non-Conformance, Deviation & Derogation Management and Continuous Improvement
- Support the QAQC Portfolio Manager in the systematic follow-up and closeout of Deviations and Derogations, ensuring proper documentation, traceability and resolution in line with the QMS requirements
- Capture, consolidate and Lessons Learned arising from non-conformances, audits and project experience, feeding continuous improvement across the portfolio and promoting a culture of quality excellence
Report at Portfolio Level on Quality matters to alert on trends and risks, and propose remedial actions
- Ensure accurate and consistent reporting of all Quality assurance activities across projects
- Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on significant quality failures or recurring issues, ensuring corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are properly defined, assigned and tracked to closure
- Maintain and update the portfolio-level quality risk register, ensuring identified risks are mitigated and monitored throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and report to the QAQC PP Manager any quality problems or difficulties raised by QA/QC projects team members
- Carry out any other duties as may be required by hierarchy and PPM.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The QA Lead reports directly to the QAQC Portfolio Manager (PPM) and supports him in developing, implementing and improving the Quality
Management System across the project portfolio.
The job holder shall ensure that all quality activities are carried out in compliance with company rules, project procedures and applicable industry standards, and that Contractors and Subcontractors always meet the required quality expectations.
The QA Lead shall identify quality risks early, ensure that non-conformances, deviations and derogations are properly documented, followed up and closed out, and report any significant quality concern to the QAQC PP Manager in a timely manner.
Qualifications/Experience required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Certification in NDT, Welding or Coating inspection (CSWIP, IWE, FROSIO/NACE) is an advantage
- Professional Experience in similar position (number of years): more than 5 years
- Good knowledge in QMS, construction, pipe laying, metallurgy, Welding, NDT, coating and pre-commissioning
- Good knowledge in construction codes and international standards used in O&G industry
- Good communication skills. Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
