Job description
- Promote safe handling & lifting operations referring to TOTAL HSE Policy, Technical and operational Company rules (CR), General Specifications (GS), national and international standards.
- Assess handling and lifting organization in the affiliate.
- Review engineering calculation for critical lifts.
- Approve critical lifting plans and attend the lifting operations (or delegate to SLS).
- Conduct annual reviews in handling and lifting.
- Participate in all handling and lifting audits (Contractors sites).
- Report HIPO, incidents and anomalies.
- Provide expertise in day to day handling and lifting activities on sites: lifts categorization, hazards identifications and risks assessments, technical review s (lifting procedures and organizations),equipment's selection and contractor's equipment’s' suitability, toolbox talks meeting organization, post-job debriefing and completed job's assessment.
- 'Gen eric lifting plans' periodical review and re-issue.
- Skills' assessments, qualifications and progress/improvement plan drafts for all personnel involved in lifting and handling operations.
- Lifting and handling procedures/instructions' update and development. Ensure that they are well assimilated and applied.
- issue monthly activity reports
- assesses the personnel competencies to carry out lifting or handling operations.
- On sites, coaching and mentoring of staff involved in lifting and handling operations and particularly Angolese (part of angolanization process).
Propose individuals to RSES for SLS nomination.
- advises the subsidiary RSES's and project managers on request.
- Seeks assistance from Headquarters CPLO if there are doubts on rules application
- ln case of severity level 2 lifting (based on TOTAL CR EP HSE 041 "Technological risk management"), the CPLO must be involved in the risk assessment and has to valid the lifting plan.
- ln case of severity levei1 lifting, the CPLO has to be involved in the lifting project and has to report to Headquarters CPLO.
The last can involve EP/ DEV/TEC for validation if deemed necessary.
- Detailed written hand-over before holidays.
- Position is based offshore and onshore (Sonils base), in Angola.
- Requires frequent transfers (from/to offshore or onshore), often with short notice.
- Fast growing activity {from 4 to 6 FPSO in 2 years).
- Lack of Lifting safety awareness within workforce
Profile
Exhaustive knowledge of international lifting standards and best practices {ASME, FME, DIN, NSL, etc .)
Technical knowledge of lifting equipment found on a logistic base and on offshore assets (pedestal cranes, crawler cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, slings, et c...).
Ability to prepare and check lifting engineering calculations, risks assessments, li fti ng plans 15 years experi ence in lifting trend
Experience in Oil & Gas industry is a plus Autonomy, Flexibility, Adaptability are mandatory
Teambuilding awareness, leadership, mu lt icultural awareness and communication skills Language: fluent Englis h or French, good practice of Portuguese
Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) Good writing skills (issuance of reports, audits, synthesis).
