SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is looking for profiles to fill the position of Civil Engineer.
The incumbent is required to:
- Review and approve all Civil designs and site preparatory works shop drawings in line with procedures, COMPANY specifications and standards
- Ensure that basis of design and specifications for buildings, civil and structural works are adhered to.
- Review and approve all early works drawings, MTOs and studies
Review and approve all Civil Engineering Design deliverables (roads, excavation, jetty assessment, onshore plant civil infrastructure and buildings, etc.) at the Detailed Engineering Design Phase - Analyse the technical proposals by EPC contractor and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Coordinate the various trades involved in Building Engineering to achieve optimized designs adapted to needs.
- Lead all Civil and Structural aspects of the work and coordinate Civil/Structural interfaces with other disciplines/professions
- Follow up fabrication activities on site and in contractors’ fabrication yards to ensure compliance with engineering designs.
- Participate in audits for the different project phases. As required.
Participate and support project reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D Model reviews etc.) - Supervise site construction activities of Foundation, concrete Pipe Sleepers, pipe support structures, equipment support structures, plant roads, shore protection, and dredging activities.
- Approve Request for Inspection (RFI) on every milestone of construction.
Review and approve route survey or existing right of way to re-establish the beacon points. - Ensure that the Project Statement of Requirements and engineering dossier requirements are met safely, while maintaining quality within budget and schedule.
- Ensure close interface with Engineering and Construction contractors through Engineering, Procurement Construction and commissioning to ensure delivery of Project, tie-in and Modification
- Ensure the quality of technical work and the technical integrity, constructability, functionality,
- Ensure proper follow-up on Red-line markups and as-built documentation and close-out.
HSE OBJECTIVES
- HSE Leadership Demonstrate exemplary HSE behaviour within the engineering function, ensuring compliance with TEPNG HSE rules and prompt reporting of any unsafe act, condition, or incident.
- Safety-by-Design Identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks through engineering design and technical decisions across all project phases.
- HSE Competency Ensure engineering personnel are trained, competent, and aware of their HSE responsibilities, with continuous monitoring.
- HSE Support & Engagement Support Project HSE objectives through engineering reviews and proactively promote HSE awareness, escalating engineering-related HSE concerns as required.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience in Oil and Gas EPC Projects.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil and structures engineering
- Experience in Oil and Gas EPC Projects.
- Project management culture
